Tammy Dunn-Peterson, DTM

Tammy first learned about Toastmasters through 4-H speech contests. Toastmaster members often served as judges for our youth, and Tammi was always surrounded by skilled public speakers. She found that she wanted that skill herself. The other thing that brought her to Toastmasters was a bit selfish. Tammi was a mom to two grown daughters, everything she did was for them and her family. Toastmasters was something she wanted to do just for herself.

Tammi joined Siouxland Ciceros in 2013 and hasn’t looked back. She took an active role in the leadership chain and has slowly and steadily gained more confidence and skills. Tammi served as a club coach for Top of Morning in 2019 and also joined the club and have continued her membership. She earned her Distinguished Toastmaster Award (DTM) in 2020 and just earned her 2nd DTM in 2026.

Being part of the Trio leadership team was not something she had ever imagined, but after much encouragement and consideration, Tammi took the leap. She served all three roles and is now an Immediate Past District Director. Tammi learned so much about Toastmasters beyond the club level. Toastmasters continues to be a passion of hers and she will continue to serve my club and beyond.

Tammy is employed by Nebraska Extension in Dakota County, her role is Office Manager. She has been with Nebraska Extension since January of 2005. She lives on an acreage with a big yard, enjoys crafting, cooking and reading.
